As part of our Wednesday Seminar Series and the events we are holding to mark the 800th anniversary of the University of Cambridge, there will be a special seminar at 15:00 on Wednesday 6 May to celebrate the 60th anniversary of EDSAC.  The speakers will be Professor David Barron and Dr Doron Swade MBE and their presentation is entitled 'Inventing the user: EDSAC in context'.  Professor Sir Maurice Wilkes will also make a contribution.

The seminar will be followed by a drinks reception at approximately 17:00 to which seminar attendees are invited. The seminar is open to all but those wishing to attend the reception are asked to notify Caroline.Matthews@cl.cam.ac.uk (or telephone 01223 334607/01223 763500) by Friday 1 May.

In the evening there will be a dinner in honour of the speakers in Clare College.  Numbers are limited and places available on a first-come first-served basis.  Further information can be obtained from Caroline Matthews as above, and places may be reserved on pre-payment of £35 per head.  Cheques made payable to the University of Cambridge should be sent to Caroline Matthews at the Computer Laboratory.
