You should take advice from your College when deciding a date to arrive. When you arrive, you should go straight to your College to register with them (if advised), collect your University identity card, and be given directions to your accommodation.

We will be registering all MPhil and Part III students Monday 2 October 2023 either in person in the Atrium of the William Gates Building from 09:15 a.m. until 09:55 a.m.,  or via an online session for those quarantining or in isolation on Tuesday 3 October.

In the weeks before teaching starts:

You will need to complete a short set of registration exercises before you will be able to collect the password to your departmental account. Students who have been at the University of Cambridge as undergraduates may not need to obtain a new password if they worked on Part II projects on  supervisor-provided machines 'beyond Grid Line E'.

All incoming students will be asked to login to Moodle where we will have set up a personalised page for each student before you join us.

You will need to confirm that:

a) you have read the rules issued by the University of Cambridge Information Services at https://help.uis.cam.ac.uk/new-starters/it-for-students/student-it-services/rules; and https://help.uis.cam.ac.uk/policies/governance-and-policy-documents

b) that you have read the Faculty's guidance on plagiarism and collusion, and the University's guidance, The University's definition of plagiarism and the associated links;

f) and that you understand the department's and the university's policies on recording taught sessions and agree not to share any recorded material.

g) You must change your password to an unguessable string known only to yourself as soon as possible. Rules for constructing valid password can be found at: https://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/local/sys/ssh/passwords/
