- CamGuides is a free online resource for all Master’s students with a taught element, designed as an introduction to some of the academic, digital and research practices that they will engage in at the University of Cambridge. It encourages students to think about ways they can prepare for their Master’s degree before it starts.
- Computer systems and software Part III and MPhil students have dedicated facilities. All students have access to MCS facilities in the Intel Laboratory.
Students also benefit from special cost-free licences for MathWorks' MATLAB and certain Microsoft software under its Academic Alliance Programme.

Student support
The main source of pastoral support for students is provided by Colleges. Each postgraduate student is assigned a Tutor by the College who will be available to meet, or correspond by email, with students to discuss personal and tutorial matters. MPhil students are also assigned a Course Adviser by the Department who will advise on course matters.
