I have received a couple of samples of the new wireless access points that we intend to install over the summer. I have placed one of them so that it should provide some Eduroam coverage to the Street area.
The service offered is essentially that described in http://www.cam.ac.uk/cs/wireless/ i.e. Lapwing and Eduroam.
In due course, the service will be extended to include local CL networks, at which point it will be possible for them to replace the existing aging wireless infrastructure.
Please regard this interim provision of Eduroam as experimental and subject to disruption.
