Demise of Computing Service usenet server and email to it

The Computing Service have announced that the University usenet news server will shut down at the beginning of next month (August 2010).  Their announcement suggests alternative usenet sources.

The Computer Lab's mail server has long provided a means of sending messages to the server, via adresses of the form ucam.cl.@cl.cam.ac.uk; this facility will of course cease (not later than the day the underlying service dies).

Note that some mailing lists send to such addresses.  If the addresses are not removed from mailing lists, list owners will receive bounce messages for messages sent to their list.
