Radiology reporting is a challenging multi-modal task requiring detailed image understanding and nuanced language generation. Advances in general-domain vision-language modelling naturally prompts us to ask: could an AI system draft a radiology report? In this talk I will describe my team’s efforts to produce useful radiology-assistive models, focusing on the new task of grounded radiology reporting, and how we go about evaluating performance for such a complex task
