I am a member of the IT support team, providing first and second line support to PhD students and administrative, academic and research staff of the department. My work includes:
looking after and maintaining computer systems and networks (including wiring) and IP telephones of the department
installing both Linux and Windows operating systems, helping diagnose hardware and software faults and solving technical and application problems
updating equipment and networking wiring database
creating lab system accounts for new members of staff and visitors and providing them with needed equipment
issuing department-managed entrance cards for short term visitors.
