Research
My research concerns the design, construction, and performance of networked-systems; a core tool of this work has been high-performance, rapid-prototyping systems such as NetFPGA: an open-source FPGA-based platform intended for research and education.
More recently I've focused upon the latency measurement, modelling, and mitigation across a multitude of scales: from wide-area, "Internet" scale networking, through data-center scale systems and host interconnects to the networks within systems.
