RealVNC, the company founded by  Computer Laboratory’s Professor Andy Hopper and Andy Harter together with Lily Bacon and other colleagues from the University has been singled out with its third Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in as many years, a remarkable accomplishment for the Cambridge-based provider of VNC® software.

This year the company has been recognised for its outstanding achievements in International Trade, following its unique double win for sustained achievements in Innovation and International Trade in 2011.

VNC, which allows a computer screen to be remotely accessed and controlled from another device, is one of the most ubiquitous software solutions on over a billion devices worldwide. VNC is the most widely ported software application ever, available on virtually every type of device that has a screen. It is now an official part of the internet, alongside web and email protocols.
