SIGGRAPH 2011 hosts an ACM Student Research Competiton, which takes place in three stages. In the first stage, posters are selected for display from the large number submitted. Of these, 25 posters are selected for judging. At the conference, a panel of distinguished judges reviews these 25 posters during the poster sessions and selects five finalists. The finalists have five minutes each to present their work to the judges. The three winners present their work to SIGGRAPH 2011 attendees during the ACM Student Research Competition Final Presentation.
