Terms of Reference
The People and Operations Committee focuses on the following main aims:
- Matters relating to the wellbeing and inclusive culture of the Department, as well as our working environment. The Committee recognises that this aim will have close intersection with many other committees (e.g. Buildings and Environment Committee, ED&I Committee, Awards Committee, Postgraduate Students Forum, etc.)
- Supporting HR functions within the Department. Whilst many HR functions are routine in nature and determined by University policy, the Committee will ensure priority functions are working effectively and will ensure line managers and supervisors are best equipped to support and develop their staff and PhD students.
- Supporting the operational processes and procedures within the Department. The Committee will ensure all members are included, informed and involved in the good running of the Department. The committee will also support operations in the delivery of effective informal and formal written and oral communication.
