The free Isaac Computer Science learning platform developed by experts from this Department and the Raspberry Pi Foundation is expanding to cover GCSE content as well as A levels.

Teams of undergraduates today won awards for projects including creating an app to help children's nurses in Myanmar monitor their young patients, and designing a system for a robotic arm to pack 3D objects into a delivery box.

"I’d urge you to consider a career in AI and data science," PhD student Michelle Seng Ah Lee told black state school students recently. "It would benefit industries and society, making sure diverse backgrounds are represented in algorithms we release into the wild."

"It is absolutely possible to get to Cambridge using 'the road less travelled'," says award-winning PhD student Sian Gooding who, after dropping out of school, went to sell PCs in a high-street retailer – and got hooked on computing.
