We class a 'new or expectant mother' as a women who is pregnant, has given birth within the preceding six months or is breastfeeding.
Once a new or expectant mother has informed the Department they are pregnant, or returning to work after pregnancy, a member of the Department will contact you to carry out a Risk Assessment for Nursing Mothers
If you need a place to rest during pregnancy, please contact one of the first aiders who will give you access to the first aid room. First aiders can also offer a new mother who wishes to continue breastfeeding on return to work access to the first aid room and a fridge if required. The Department will also arrange to review your risk assessment.
