William Gates Building Caféteria

 

Monday – Friday 8:30 – 16:00

Refreshments, hot drinks and snacks are available from the Computer Laboratory Café located in the south-west corner ground floor (GW24) area of the William Gates Building. 

The Cafe offers a selection of drinks, snacks and fruit, as well as packed sandwiches and breakfast foods. During lunchtime, fresh paninis, soup, and jacket potatoes (with toppings) are also available.

 

Vending machines

There are currently three vending machines in the Computer Laboratory:

  • refrigerated food and soft drinks at the cafe
  • sweets and crisps at the first-floor back entrance of Lecture Theatre 2
  • hot drinks in the common room kitchen (FC35)

    Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and salad, on Clerk Maxwell Road, each Tuesday and Thursday 11:45–13:30.
  • Steak & Honour
    “serving proper burgers made with local produce”, on Clerk Maxwell Road, Wednesday and Friday 12:00–14:00.
  • foodPark@West Cambridge
    5 traders next to Department of Materials Science every Wednesday, 12:00-14:00.
  • Norfolk Street Deli
    Have a sandwich van outside Roger Needham Building on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays at 10:00–12:00.
  • Mon Panier Mignon
    Offering various sandwiches and Italian cakes, this van appears at the front car park weekdays at 12:30 (outside Roger Needham Building at 12:00).

Hauser Forum

The Hauser Forum at the southern end of JJ Thomson Avenue houses the West Cafe, run by the University Centre.

Cavendish Laboratory

The Cavendish Canteen / Common Room Common Room can be found in the Bragg building of the Cavendish Laboratory. The main entrance is opposite reception.

CAPE

The cafe at the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electronics (map) is available to anyone with a valid University Card. Take your card to the CAPE receptionist who can authorise it such that you can open the turnstiles yourself in future.
