  • Professor of Interdisciplinary Design

All relevant detail on research, teaching and professional activities can be found from my personal home page.

If you plan to contact me to apply for supervision, collaboration or employment, please read my advice on how to explain your specific interests beforehand, and start your message by confirming that you have done this.

For those following that advice, I expect to admit two PhD students starting in October 2023.

Research

A good introduction to my overall research agenda can be found in my new book Moral Codes: Designing software without surrender to AI. Moral Codes will be published by MIT Press in 2024, but a pre-release version is available on PubPub as an open access publication.

My personal home page includes overview descriptions and links to publications in my main areas of research: computational arts, critical design and novel representations of computation. Please note that I do not supervise research in the generic application of machine learning algorithms, unless there is a specific link to one of these topics.
